Abstract:
To reduce a carbon dioxide discharge amount, and efficiently transport a cargo.
A container rack barge 2 loaded with a container 3 of 200 TEU or more is stored in a high speed coasting vessel 1 to conduct cargo work with high speed. The container 3 is ready to be loaded in the barge 2 until the vessel 1 arrives, the vessel 1 sinks a hull to carry the barges 2 in and out, and loading and unloading for the containers 3 are carried out collectively. When the vessel 1 sails at 30-40 knots of speed between harbors, periodical operations are possible within a time equal to land transportation by a motor truck to promote modal shift.
