Title:
CARPET EXCELLENT PARTICULARLY IN MOLDABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3924217
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpet having an enhanced moldability and reduced in falling fibers by optimizing the strangling of staple fibers with the fibers that composes a piling.
SOLUTION: The carpet is composed of a primary ground fabric, the piling implanted on the surface of the primary ground fabric, and a nonwoven web layer bonded to the back surface of the primary ground fabric. The staple fibers that constitutes the nonwoven web layer interlace with the fibers that constitute the primary ground fabric and the fibers that constitute the piling, while the staple fibers interlace with each other as well. The basis weight of the nonwoven web layer are 200-1000 g/m2 and the mass average fineness of the staple fibers that compose the nonwoven web layer is less than 3.3 dTex. The nonwoven web layer contains at least 20 mass% of wick-sheath type compound staple fibers that are composed of thermoplastic macromolecule polymer with wick made of polyethylene terephthalate and the sheath made of component with the melting point 30°C lower than that of the component of the wick.
