To provide a carpet production unit designed to surely, efficiently, and successively bond cut pile yarns each bent at the center while keeping favorable posture, to a sheet-like base material being in travel intermittently.
This carpet production unit has such a scheme that, as the guide means for a bonding process section B, guide members 6a, 6b are arranged opposite to each other in front and rear positions along the travel direction of a sheet-like base material C1, the front side guide member 6a is supported in a vertically movable manner between such a set position that the lower part lies within a region H of pile length and stands against the rear side guide member 6b and an upper position lying apart from the region H, while the rear side guide member 6b is supported in a displaceable manner so as to push a pile yarn P forward a bit while both the guide member 6a and a press means 5 lie at the upper position and set up so as to be displaced backward on lowering of the front side guide member 6a and on pushing the pile yarn down by the press means 5, and the backward inclination of a bonded pile yarn is restricted by holding the lower part of the guide member 6a on the bonded pile yarn, thereby ensuring the succeeding pile yarn to the bonded.
