PURPOSE: To improve carrying speed and performance a carrier device system by practically achieving a high speed for the main part of a linking type carrier device like an escalator and a moving sidewalk.

CONSTITUTION: The travelling speeds of an escalator and a moving sidewalk are increased approximately by two to three times those of conventional ones, travelling parts 12, 1' and 2' of more than one step are added to both a boarding part (A) and a retreating part (B) and a relative speed of the lowest speed part 2 and 2' to the floor and one to an adjacent travelling part are set to as not to exceed a conventional allowable limit. As shown in a selected figure, if the low speed part is changed to three steps, such a one 80m/min which is about three times the allowable limit speed relative to the floor can be obtained. As a low speed travelling part used for this system sending rollers 3 and 4 which rotate at contant positions in a short zone are used, besides a moving sidewalk utilizing a geared belt and a chain having a flat plate.
