Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier roll for a steel pipe heat treatment furnace which prevents occurrence of flaws due to seizure and bending of steel pipes due to decrease of the furnace temperature in the vicinity of the carrier roll and local cooling and enables low-cost production of steel pipes.SOLUTION: The carrier roll is of a split type and is composed of a carbon steel roll in which a roll central part 1C of a roll body 1 coming in contact with steel pipes is integrated with a hollow shaft 2 of the carbon steel, and hollow sleeves 1B composed of heat-resistant cast steel are jointed with the hollow shaft by engagement on both end sides of the roll central part 1C. The void parts of the hollow sleeves 1B are filled with heat insulators 3, and the inside of the hollow shaft 2 is water-cooled.
