Abstract:
To provide a carrier roller, a card reader with the carrier roller and a manufacturing method therefor, capable of achieving excellent oil resistance and hydrolysis resistance.SOLUTION: In a card reader, a roller face 310 of a carrier roller 31 used for conveyance of a card is formed of a rubber member 32. The rubber member 32 is constituted of blend rubber including a first rubber material formed from hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (H-NBR) and a second rubber material different from the hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber. The second rubber material is, for example, ethylene propylene diene terpolymer rubber (EPDM). Thus, in addition to realization of the carrier roller 31 excellent in oil resistance, hydrolysis resistance and gripping power (conveyance power), cost reduction can be achieved because the EPDM serving as industrial rubber is blended. In the rubber member 32, a blend ratio of the H-NBR to EPDM is, for example, from 1:3 to 3:1 in volume ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
