Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the BER performance by combining the prediction based on adaptation to a least square facing storage curve or extrapolation with the RLS estimation so as to reduce delay in the tracking.
SOLUTION: The phase and amplitude estimation by the RLS (sequential least square) method is combined with the prediction for deciding and commanding (that is, establishment of carrier synchronization) carrier synchronization. That is, a phase and amplitude estimate device 10 uses a detection symbol d1 and a known pilot symbol p1 to extract a phase and amplitude estimate value from a reception signal i1. In this case, the phase and amplitude estimate device 10 used for the estimation is made up of an RLS phase and amplitude estimate device 1 and a prediction device 2. Thus, the synchronizing unit combining the RLS phase and amplitude estimation and the carrier synchronization is operated for the operation of combination of the RLS phase and amplitude estimation and the prediction for carrier recovery. The requirements of a digital configuration of a receiver are satisfied.
