Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier tape inspection method by which a pitch defect in a sprocket hole of a carrier tape can be detected with satisfactory precision.
SOLUTION: In an inspection of a carrier tape 1 in which parts housing recess parts and sprocket holes for transferring are arranged continuously, a pilot pin 9, whose diameter complies with material and thickness of the carrier tape 1 and a sprocket hole pitch, is stood in the position matching with the sprocket hole. When the pilot pin 9 is inserted into the sprocket hole, a whitened area generated in the sprocket hole circumference part or a deformed and expanded sprocket hole area is detected by means of an image processing device, and then, a pitch defect of the sprocket hole can be detected.
