This carrying direction turning device is set in a vertical form, and a driving shaft in which its outer tube part carries out a rotating movement is provided. Inside the driving shaft, a motor to drive to rotate the outer tube of the driving shaft and a speed reduction mechanism are provided. At the position of the upper end of the driving shaft, a hub 1 is provided. To the hub 1, recessed grooves 121 are provided along the whole periphery, at the positions of the flanges 12 on the circumference, and slit grooves 122 are provided in the radial directions. To the position of the slit groove, a rod 2 is installed movable to flactuate in the vertical direction. To the lower side of the hub 1, a solid cam 3 to maintain (support) the rod 2 in the horizontal condition, within the scope of about 90° in the horizontal surface, is provided.
