This carrying tray neatly holds the package in the steam sterilizer, and has an open port having an area for at least one package on an end thereof. A stopper which permits insertion of the package in the open port for inserting the package from the end, but prevents detachment of the package after the package is accommodated is added to the carrying tray comprising a plurality of stays. The packages are stacked in the tray so that the side surface of each package coincides with the corresponding side surface, and held in a condition arranged in the longitudinal direction.
