Title:
CARVED STAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61268477
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable stamping on an object made of hard and brittle materials, plastics or the like, by forming a carved stamp of ceramics of which the surface at least is hard to be wet with the object to be stamped and of which the stamp base is heated by electrification.

CONSTITUTION: Characters 2 are provided to be protuberant from and integral with one side of a stamp base 1 shaped in a rectangular parallelepiped and formed of silicon carbide. Electroconductive silicon is made to permeate the opposite ends of the stamp base 1 to provide terminal elements 3 thereat, and the terminal elements 3 are connected to a wire 4. Stamping is conducted in such a manner that the stamp base 1 is heated by electrification up to a temperature higher than a melting point of an object to be stamped and then the character elements 2 are pressed onto the surface of the object. The carved stamp may be formed not only of silicon cabide, but also of heating ceramics of carbon, zirconia carbon or others.
