PURPOSE: To decrease the circuit scale of a cascade connection variable equalizer and to reduce the power consumption by giving an input signal to an input adder and an output terminal adder of each of n-set of circuit blocks and giving a signal at the output terminal of each circuit block to an input adder and an output terminal adder of each circuit block of the post stage.

CONSTITUTION: Circuit blocks 1∼n are connected in cascade by n-stage and an output terminal adder 10 is provided to the stage next to the n-stage cascade connection. Then the input signal is given to input adders 1-1∼1-3 of the direct circuit blocks 1∼3. Moreover, the output of the circuit block 1 is given to input adders 2-1, 3-1 of the circuit blocks 2, 3 and the output terminal adder 10, and the output of the circuit block 2 is given to input adder 3-1 of the circuit block 3 and the output terminal adder 10, and the output of the circuit block 3 is given to the output terminal adder 10. Then the output terminal adder 10 adds signals given thereto and gives a resulting output.
