PURPOSE: To permit an efficient distribution of empty corrugated cardboard cases to the sorting and take-away parts by providing parallel to a sorting conveyor a case distribution conveyor for supplying a plurality of rows of said cases in a successive series.

CONSTITUTION: Empty corrugated cardboard cases are sent from a case forming part at a second floor through a vertical conveying part onto a high-speed transfer conveyor 92, carried thereby and transferred therefrom onto the two horizontal lines of a case distribution conveyor 91, carried thereby and steered by supply parts 92 and 93 into appropriately assigned weight encasing parts 8. The case distribution conveyor 91 is provided parallel to a sorting conveyor 5, the one line thereof can be connected with the weight casing parts 8 at the five inner places in the moving direction of the sorting conveyor and the other line thereof can be connected with the rest of the weight casing parts 8 at the five outer places in the moving direction thereof. Even when a long sorting conveyor 5 is used with a large amount of fruit being sorted and taken away therefrom, a sufficient amount of the empty corrugated cardboard cases can be supplied on a stable basis without suffering the depletion thereof.
