A coin sorting mechanism 52 setting one of a coin counter 45 and a through coin chute 49 to be sent with coins after performing sorting by a drum 31 is provided below the drum 31 sorting the coins and tickets. When a valve 54 takes a first turn position, a passage route of the coin after the sorting by the drum 31 takes a route to a coin storage bag 21 through the coin counter 45 after counting processing is performed in the coin counter 45. When the coin jam occurs in the coin counter 45, the valve 54 is changed over from the first turn position to a second turn position, and the passage route of the coin after the sorting by the drum 31 takes a direct route to the coin storage bag 21 through the through coin chute 49 not through the coin counter 45.
