Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate easy handling and to improve the reliability of information when the record/reprouction is carried out, by providing a medium protecting mechanism inside a cassette to protect the medium from flaw, stain, dust, etc. CONSTITUTION:When a cassette C is left alone, a protecting member 5 is energized by a spring 4. The member 5 makes a window from inside, and a magnetic sheet 3 is not exposed. When the cassette C is loaded into a recording/ reproducing device and toward an arrow (d), a pawl of the device touches a pawl member 7-2. Then the cassette C is pushed in further toward the arrow (d) with the position of the member 7-2 kept as it is. Then the cassette C is locked to the device when it is pushed in by a prescribed extent. This is relatively equal to the fact that the member 7-2 is moved backward to the arrow (d) with the cassette C kept as it is. Thus the member 5 moves horizontally toward side part S1 and goes out of the window, and the sheet 3 comes out of the window. Therefore it is just needed to insert a magnetic head into the cassette C when necessary after the cassette C is locked to the recording/reproducing device.
