Abstract:

To provide a caster and a wheelchair of simple constitution, capable of easily pass over a step and having less vibration in passing over the step.

This caster 10 is constituted of a wheel 1 rotatably supported on an axle 2, a supporting structure 5 to support a main body loaded on the caster 10, a swingable swing arm 3 one end of which is connected to the axle and the other end of which is connected to the supporting structure 5 by an rotary shaft 4, wherein the swing arm 3 can rotate in a range including at least a part of a swing range from a posture where the rotary shaft 4 is positioned downward vertically to the axle 2 and to a posture where the rotary shaft 4 is positioned in the proceeding direction of the axle 2, and the main body is lifted by rotation of the swing arm 3 in the swing range.
