Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable dividing so that the position of corners of a valve member avoids the repeated contact with a seat between the same points to a valve housing by operating an actuator for reciprocating a valve rod in the axial direction and operating a rotating mechanism during shifting the valve rod in the axial direction.

CONSTITUTION: A casting apparatus is provided with distributing devices 4, 5 which form a vol changable distributing chamber 21 for receiving molten metal 3, a valve 8 having the housing 23 which forms a chamber 24 and a passage between the valve chamber and the distributing chamber. Further, in the valve, an inlet port 8a for supplying the molten metal and an outlet port 8c communicated with a die 9, are formed and in the valve chamber, the valve member 8d is disposed. A working mechanism 26 for selectively shifting the valve member to a first position for closing the inlet port and a second position for closing the outlet port communicates the die with the distributing chamber to cast the molten metal through the valve at the first position, and connects the distributing chamber with the supply of molten metal to recharge the molten metal into the distributing chamber through the valve at the second position. The working mechanism is constituted of the valve rod 25 fixed to the valve member, an actuator 27 for operating to reciprocate the valve rod in the axial direction and the rotating mechanism for operating during shifting the valve rod to rotate the valve rod.
