To provide a casting apparatus capable of performing efficient continuous casting by preventing reaction of a molten metal in a crucible stored in a chamber with oxygen.
The casting apparatus comprises: a lower chamber 11 for storing crucibles 13, 14; an upper chamber 12 which is communicated with an upper part of the lower chamber 11 and has an opening part 27 for taking in/taking out a casting mold 23 and a door 28 for opening/closing the opening part 27; lower replacement means 21, 22 for replacing the atmosphere in the lower chamber 11 with the predetermined gas atmosphere; upper replacement means 21, 22 for replacing the atmosphere in the upper chamber 12 with the predetermined gas atmosphere; an elevating/lowering device 30 for elevating/lowering the casting mold 23 between the position in the upper chamber 12 and the position in the lower chamber 11; a gate valve 29 which is interposed between the lower chamber 11 and the upper chamber 12 to partition the lower chamber 11 from the upper chamber 12; a suction casting chamber 24 for storing the casting mold 23; and a suction device 32 for sucking the molten metal in the crucibles 13, 14 into the casting mold 23 stored in the suction casting chamber 24.
