Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute casting at the best timing of casting at the time of pouring metal into a mold by melting the metal with high frequency induction heating.
SOLUTION: The metal 4 in a crucible 2 is melted with the induction heating using the high frequency which is amplitude-modulated with low frequency and the phenomena, in which the molten metal is raised up in spherical shape at the time of impressing the high frequency to decrease the area in the horizontal plane and the molten metal is formed as flat disk shape at the time of non-impressing the high frequency to increase the area in the horizontal plane, are detected as image data with two-dimensional image sensor 5. The suitable casting timing is decided in a micro-computer 17 based on the area variation of the molten metal synchronized with the low frequency in the image data to execute the casting.
