PURPOSE: To obtain a bottomed hollow non-ferrous metallic casting having good dimensional accuracy by mounting a core formed by press-sticking core sand at the outside circumferential part of a bottomed metallic pipe in the position constituting a bottomed hollow part, and cooling the hollow part of the bottomed metallic pipe during or after charging of a molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: A core 3 formed by using a bottomed metallic pipe 4 having a bottom 4' as a core metal for reinforcement and press-sticking core sand 5, such as silica sand, at the circumference thereof and the bottom side of the bottom 4' is used. The diameter of the pipe 4 is determined at 1/2W1/4 basing on the wall thickness of the core. Such core 3 is mounted in the position constituting the bottomed hollow part of a product casting and a refrigerant, for example, water 8, is fed into the pipe 4 during or after charging of a molten metal, thereby cooling the core 3.
