An adapter 2 with built-in memory 202 for registering user information for specifying a user and modem 201 for communicating with a merchandise sales trader is connected with a DVD reproducing device 1. Information stored in a DVD disk for catalog shopping for storing catalog information, telephone number of the merchandise sales trader, and communication program indicating a communication procedure from the user to the merchandise sales trader is reproduced by the DVD reproducing device 1, and the catalog information is displayed by a TV display 4. Also, information related with merchandise to be purchased selected by the user based on the reproduced communication program and the user information registered in the memory 202 in the adapter 2 is transmitted through the modem 201.
