Abstract:
To improve the low temperature activity of a catalyst using a carrier containing cerium.
At least one of Pt and Pd is carried on the carrier powder containing CeO2 to prepare the catalyst powder, which is brought into contact with a solution having a reducing effect to reduce CeO2 into Ce2O3. By this method, the oxygen occlusion and emission performance can be developed even to the inner part of the carrier and the activity of noble metals carried by Ce2O3 is significantly improved.
