Abstract:

To improve the removal rate of HC by activating catalyst metals in early stages.

In the catalyst for exhaust gas control consisting of an adsorbing layer 2 containing an adsorbent for HC and a catalyst layer 3 formed on the surface of the adsorbing layer 2, the amount of the catalyst metals carried is gradually increased from the lower surface side of the catalyst layer 3 in contact with the adsorbing layer 2 to the upper surface side of the catalyst layer 3. Thus, the contact probability between the catalyst metals and the exhaust gas is increased to activate the catalyst metals in early stages.
