Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material of which the activity for a cross-coupling (CC) reaction is comparable to that of SAPd, with which contamination of a reaction product by a catalyst metal is reduced, and with which the number of times of repeated use can be improved, and to provide a catalyst or a catalyst precursor which has comparable CC-reactivity by using Pd and a catalyst metal other than Pd without using a carrier such as gold or using a piranha solution.SOLUTION: In a composite, catalyst metal nanoparticles are dispersed in a continuous phase composed of a polymer of a 2-6C alkylene group unit and a phenylene group unit (the alkylene group unit is bonded to at least 1 and 4 positions of the phenylene group unit), and the particle size of the catalyst metal nanoparticles is 20 nm or less. A composite structure includes a substrate and the composite disposed on a surface of the substrate. In a production method of the composite structure, a benzene compound having two or more alkyl groups (two alkyl groups are on the 1 and 4 positions) is subjected to dehydrogenation and condensation on the surface of the substrate in the presence of a catalyst metal compound so as to form the composite.SELECTED DRAWING: None
