Title:
CATALYST FOR PERFORMING CATALYTIC REDUCTION OF NITROGEN OXIDE IN EXHAUST GAS AND METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008212799
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a catalyst for performing catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides with high selectivity without deteriorating the catalyst and without causing aggravation of fuel cost in a broad range of temperature by bringing an exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxides produced by burning fuel under lean conditions into contact with sulfur oxides in the presence of carbon monoxide and hydrogen.

The catalyst for performing catalytic reduction of the nitrogen oxide by bringing the exhaust gas containing the nitrogen oxides produced by burning the fuel under lean conditions into contact with the sulfur oxides in the presence of carbon monoxide and hydrogen consists of (A) 0.1-5.0 wt.% of rhodium, (B) 0.1-5.0 wt.% of at least one selected from copper, iron, vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum and (C) a remainder carrier. Preferably, the catalyst contains (D) 0.1-5.0 wt.% of at least one selected from an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal and rare earth element.
