Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst optimum to the position-selective catalytic hydrogenation reaction of the double bonding of an aliphatic compound having a carbon-carbon double bond and an oleophilic functional group by coupling alkyl silica with platinum supported silica.

CONSTITUTION: Platinum supported silica and an alkyl silica agent are mixed in a non-polar solvent under stirring and coupling reaction is performed to obtain a catalyst selectively hydrogenating the carbon-carbon double bond of an aliphatic compound having a hydrophilic functional group present on the terminal side of the hydrophobic part of said compound. The effect of a reaction field constructed by the coupling reaction of an alkyl silylating agent is developed using this catalyst and the above mentioned reaction can be performed effectively.
