Title:
CATALYST PRECURSOR AND MANUFACTURE OF CORRESPONDING CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02290254
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture a catalyst large density and high resistance to wear and having low oxidization reaction temperature of butane by reacting V2O4 and phosphoric acid in an organic solvent in the presence of polyol.

CONSTITUTION: When butane is oxidized to manufacture a catalyst precursor for manufacturing maleic anhydride, V2O4 and phosphoric acid are reacted in a solvent such as isobutyl alcohol in the presence of polyol such as ethylene glycol and propanediol. Lumpy solids are not generated in reactive slurry, and unreacted V2O4 little remains therein to prepare uniform (VO)2P2O7. The catalyst manufactured from said precursor is of high density and resistance to wear and its oxidization reaction temperature is low and specific surface is large.
