Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce 3-cyano-3,5,5-trialkylcyclohexanone by allowing 3,5,5- trialkylcyclohexenone to react with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of a catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: In this production, 3,5,5-trialkylcyclohexenone is allowed to react with hydrogen cyanide at a high temp. in the presence of an adequate amount of an onium cyanide as a catalyst, to produce the objective 3-cyano-3,5,5- trialkylcyclohexanone.
