Title:
CATALYST FOR REMOVING NITROGEN OXIDES FROM WASTE GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0283040
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently remove nitrogen oxides in a high temperature range by using a specified acid type mordenite as a catalyst in the catalytic reduction method using ammonia.

CONSTITUTION: Commercially available Na type mordenite is subjected to repeated immersion treatment by using 0.1N-HCl or 1-3N-NH4Cl so as to ultimately obtain an oxidation type mordenite represented by the chemical formula (Hx-z).(Naz).[(AlO2)x.(SiO2)y].mH2O and having a z/x (molar ratio) of not more than 0.05 and a y/x (molar ratio) of not more than 5. The resulting product is deposited on a base material formed of ceramic fiber to prepare an oxidation type mordenite carrying catalyst, whereby nitrogen oxides can be removed efficiently from waste gas in a high temperature range of 400°C-700°C.
