Abstract:
To provide a method for anti-selectively producing an optically active anti-1,2-nitroalkanol compound useful as a precursor of an optically active anti-1,2-aminoalcohol compound by a catalytic and asymmetric reaction.
The method comprises a process of reacting an aldehyde compound with a nitroalkane compound in the presence of a complex represented by the general formula (I) (wherein R1 and R2 are each an alkyl group and R1 and R2 may be mutually bonded; R3 and R4 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like; R5 is an alkyl group, a halogenophenyl group or the like).
