PURPOSE: To provide a catalytic carrier for an exhaust gas purifying device wherein thermal stress is relaxed and thereby deterioration, damage, a crack and rupture are prevented from being caused in the vicinities of the brazing joint part of a shell wall even when the catalys carrier is used for a long period and durability is enhanced and the whole weight is lightened and resistance to vibration is enhanced and heat-up time is shortened and sound deadening capacity and a cost are excellent.
CONSTITUTION: The catalytic carrier 6 is constituted by winding a flat board 8 and a corrugated sheet 7 which are made of a metallic foil in a multilayer so as to be alternately positioned and also brazing them and forming the whole into a roll shape and a honeycomb structure. The flat board 7 is divided into a plurality of sheets while holding the intervals along the longitudinal direction and thereby arranged while holding the intervals divided in the axial direction of the whole. Further notched parts are formed along the longitudinal direction and thereby the flat board 7 is arranged while holding the intervals in the axial direction of the whole through the notched parts. The intervals may be formed in the direction of the corrugated sheet 8.
