To provide a catenary trolley traverse device for a cargo gear, which is capable of traversing a catenary trolley to follow up a main trolley by a simple structure using no special driving devices or the like at all and reducing the weight of the entire device and costs.

A drum 23 having a diameter roughly half of that of a traverse wheel 21 is provided in a wheel axle 22 rotated integrally with the traverse wheel 21 of a main trolley 5, one end of a metallic band body 24 freely wound/ unwound, having rigidity when extended and having no buckling is connected to the drum 24, and the other end thereof is connected to catenary trolleys 19 and 20.
