Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions for the treatment of disorders associated with abnormal bone resorption which have therapeutic advantage, convenience, patient compliance and patient satisfaction greater than those of other therapies.SOLUTION: The present invention provides: a cathepsin K inhibitor involved in osteoclast-mediated bone resorption; and a method of inhibiting bone resorption of a mammal in need treatment using an oral pharmaceutical composition containing a cathepsin K inhibitor represented by the formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a mixture thereof according to a continuous schedule having a dosage interval of once weekly, biweekly, twice monthly or once monthly.SELECTED DRAWING: None
