Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate the removal and insertion of a capillary of a dilator into and from a tube of a sheath and decrease the penetration resistance into a blood vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The boundary of a circular conical pointed part 5a of the capillary 5 of the dilator 2 and a capillary part 5b connecting to the circular conical pointed part 5a is circumferentially provided with a hollow groove 15 of the depth corresponding to the thickness of the tube 3 of the sheath 1 and the step parts on both sides of the hollow groove 15 are formed as slopes 15a. On the other hand, the front end of the tube 3 of the sheath 1 is formed as a converging structure. Trumpet-shaped flaring surfaces 3a corresponding to the slopes 15a are formed on the inner periphery of the front end thereof. The tube 3 of the sheath 1 and the circular conical pointed part 5a of the capillary 5 projecting from the front end of the tube 3 are formed as a continuous surface free from differences in levels and joints.
