Abstract:
A catheter (20), which is to be percutaneously inserted into a living body lumen, comprises: a sheath portion (55) having a lumen extending therein; an insertion member (60) slidably disposed in said lumen and having a distal end portion (62) capable of protruding from a distal end portion (57) of said sheath portion (55); an injection needle (63) disposed at said distal end portion (62) of said insertion member (60) for injecting a therapeutic composition into a target tissue in a living body; and an electrode (70) for measuring a cardiac action potential. The electrode (70) is disposed at said distal end portion (62) of said insertion member (60) and is spaced from or adjacent to a bevel of said injection needle (63) along a longitudinal direction of said insertion member (60).
