Abstract:
To provide a catheter capable of effectively exerting both functions of passing through an affected area and of dilating the affected part.SOLUTION: A catheter 10 comprises a shaft 20 with a guide wire lumen 25 formed to extend from a proximal end to a distal end, a balloon 30 fixed to an outer surface so as to surround the outer surface of the distal end of the shaft 20, and a hub 40 with a first port 41 formed to be connected to the proximal end of the shaft 20 and communicating with the guide wire lumen 25. The shaft 20 includes a tubular reinforcement body 23 with a gap formed to penetrate from an inner peripheral surface to an outer peripheral surface, at least one passage 26 passing through the gap of the reinforcement body 23 to communicate the guide wire lumen 25 with the inside of the balloon 30, and a guide part 27 disposed at a distal side with respect to the passage 26 and guiding fluid flowing distally through the guide wire lumen 25 via the passage 26, to the inside of the balloon 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
