PURPOSE: To obtain a coating compsn. cured as a hard durable film excellent in corrosion resistance when bonded to a conductive substrate as a film by an aq. cathodic electrodeposition method and cured by adding a cathode electrodepositing resin compsn, a crosslinking agent and a specific organolead compd.

CONSTITUTION: A cathodic electrodeposition resinous coating compsn. contains a cathodic electrodeposition resin compsn. (e.g.; selected from an amine epoxy resin adduct and an amine functional acryl resin) (A), a crosslinking agent (e.g.; blocked polyisocyanate) (B) and an organolead compd. (e.g. lead naphthenate) (C) composed of water-insoluble lead salt of a 6 or more C aliphatic acid being liquid or becoming liquid at a time of the mixture with a suitable org. solvent or oil or becoming liquid paste at a time of the mixture with a suitable org. solvent or oil, and is cured as a hard durable film having excellent corrosion resistance when bonded to a conductive substrate by an aq. cathodic electrodeposition method without requiring any additional catalyst.
