Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube display capable of preventing spot residues without complicating the constitution of its circuit and a procedure for its control.
SOLUTION: The cathode-ray tube display is made to have a constitution provided with a cathode-ray tube 7 for displaying images, a controlling microcomputer 1 for controlling a start and a stop of operation of the cathode-ray tube 7 in response to the on-off operation of an electric source by an electric source key 11, and an image signal processing circuit 2 that operates so as to make the cathode-ray tube 7 output a white background image. The image signal processing circuit 2 is connected with the controlling microcomputer 1 through a data communication bus 10. When operation instructions to perform display in white are input by the controlling microcomputer 1, the cathode-ray tube 7 operates so as to output the white background image. Then, when the off-operation of the electric source is performed with the cathode-ray tube display unit in its steady state, the controlling microcomputer 1 outputs operation instruction data to the image signal processing circuit 2 to make the cathode-ray tube 7 display the white background image, thereafter stopping the operation of the cathode-ray tube 7.
