To provide a deflection yoke restraining a peculiar sound generated at a core leg part of a picture frame scanning coil which is pulled at every cycle and beating the outside surface of a flange part of a coil separator, or generated by the magnetostriction vibration of the picture frame scanning coil propagated to the flange part, which are caused by the leakage of magnetic field which becomes stronger as the vertical deflection frequency is set higher as the picture surface becomes large and flat and picture quality becomes highly precise, and to provide a cathode ray tube mounting the above deflection yoke.
The whole part of the picture frame scanning coil 29 is arranged so as to be separated from the outer side surface of the flange 24 by forming a fixing piece 38 so as to protrude from the outer side surface of the flange 24 at a small diameter side of a coil separator 21, and fixing the picture frame scanning coil 29 to the fixing piece 38.
