Abstract:

To provide a cathode ray tube in which the thickness of an inside graphite film is optimized so as to be more suitable to the cathode ray tube having a rectangular cone part.

The cathode ray tube contains a panel; an electron gun mounted on a neck part; a funnel 12 joining the panel and the neck part, having a cone part 12a varying from a round shape to an rectangular shape as going farther from the neck part to the panel; an anode button for applying high voltage given to the funnel; and an inside graphite film 18 coated on the whole inside surface of the funnel and forming a transmitting path of high voltage applied from the anode button, and the thickness of the inside graphite film 18 formed on the inner circumferential surface of the cone part 12a is set within the range represented by the formula: 0.9 ≤Td/Th≤1.36. In the formula, Td shows the thickness of the inside graphite film (mm) coated in a diagonal part of the cone part, and Th shows the thickness of the inside graphite film (mm) coated in the horizontal part of the cone part. The thickness in the horizontal part is the same as that in the vertical part.
