Abstract:
To obtain a cationic surfactant composition capable of keeping the pH within the range at which the degradation of the ester group of OCOR5 group in the molecule can be retarded without adding an acid or a base agent.
This cationic surfactant composition contains a large proportion of a quarternary ammonium salt having at least one OCOR5 group (R5 is a 7-23C alkyl and/or alkenyl group) in the molecule, and a small proportion of an intermediate amine thereof and a monoalkyl sulfate salt of the amine in the ratio of the monoalkyl sulfate of the amine to the intermediate amine regulated so as to be (45/100)-(150/100) by weight.
