Title:
CAVITATION PREVENTING MECHANISM FOR OIL PUMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3711505
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To restrain cavitation from arising even in the high rotation range by normally keeping a spool in a first position, and moving the same to a second position if the suction negative pressure of an oil pump has exceeded a predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: A control valve 7 is connected and includes a valve main body 9, a valve port 17, a spool 13, and a spool position control device. The spool 13 in particular is movable between a first position where it shuts the valve port 17 off from a passage 8 and a second position where it communicates the valve port 17 with the passage 8. The spool position control device normally keeps the spool 13 in the first position, and when the suction negative pressure of the oil pump has exceeded a predetermined value, moves the spool 13 to the second position. Thus when the oil pump suction negative pressure exceeds the predetermined value, a part of the oil delivered is allowed to flow into an inlet port from the passage 8 of the control valve 7 through the valve port 17. Therefore cavitation is decreased, and cavitation noise is also decreased.
