PURPOSE: cDNA producing tropoelastin useful for inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation preventing arteriosclerosis, obtained by coding tropoelastin.

CONSTITUTION: A cell producing a large amount of elastin, derived from chicken, is ground to give a RNA fraction, from which polyA+RNA (A) is isolated. Then the component A is treated with a restriction enzyme to give cDNA-containing plasmid (B). Then the component B is transformed with Escherichia coli to give plasmid recipient bacterium (C). On the other hand, the component A is linked to polyA+RNA obtained from an elastin nonforming cell and labeled with 32P, etc., to give 32P labeled polyA+RNA probe (D). Then the components D and C are hybridized, a colony showing complementation to a probe derived from the component A and plasmid DNA is extracted from the clone of the prepared colony. Then the DNA is treated with a restriction enzyme to give cDNA of tropoelastin showing base sequence such as peptide shown by the formula and crosslinking forming peripheral sequence, etc.
