Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the responsiveness of CAC(Call Admission Control) by multiplying first and second safety factors by an average cell loss to obtain the cell loss rate of each connection.
SOLUTION: Plural connection request are divided into i groups in accordance with the peak speed and the average speed, and a cell loss rate CLRi of the i-th group is operated in accordance with CLRi≤(a11/C).(ri/ai).CLRAVE where CLRAVE, a11 and C are the average cell loss rate, the sum of the average speed, and the virtual path(VP) band for all of plural connection requests respectively and ri and ai are the peak speed and the average speed of the i-th group respectively. In this case, a11/C is the first safety factor common to all call types, and ri/ai is the second safety factor peculiar to the call type i. Only when a maximum of the cell loss rate of each connection satisfies a certain reference value, the connection request of the connection is accepted.
