To provide a cell stack device having a structure in which a positional displacement of a fuel cell is not caused even under high temperature exposure for a long time, and time and effort are not required in manufacturing.
The cell stack device 1 is provided, in which lower ends of a plurality of fuel cells 2 having gas flow passages 2a in a long axial direction are erected and adjoined to a top plate 5 of a manifold 4, with a gas chamber 3 formed therein, in a gas seal condition by inorganic material, and the gas flow passages of the fuel cell 2 and the gas chamber 3 of the manifold 4 communicate with each other. The fuel cell 2 is supported at an inner surface of the manifold 4 (abuts on an inner bottom surface 4a), a space 6 is formed between a lower end surface of the fuel cell 2 and the inner bottom surface 4a of the manifold 4 at the same time, and the gas passages of the fuel cell 2 open to the space 6.
