Abstract:
To obtain a novel cellulose-contg. polymer which is useful for a novel thermoplastic polymer or a thickening agent by graft-polymerizing a specified vinyl monomer onto a water-soluble cellulose ether.
This cellulose-contg. polymer is obtd. by graft-polymerizing a vinyl alcohol carboxylic acid ester onto a water-soluble cellulose ether. The vinyl alcohol carboxylic acid ester is pref. vinyl acetate. Pref., the cellulose- contg. polymer is obtd. by using O/W type emulsion polymn. as the graft polymn.
