To prepare an optical film having an improved optical property and being able to reduce bright spot foreign matter observed under a condition where polarizing plates are orthogonal, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same; to provide a manufacturing method for the optical film which has a low manufacturing load and equipment load associated with drying and recovery of a solvent; and furthermore to provide the optical film having an additive which is uniformly dispersed, having even distribution of mechanical and optical characteristics, and having excellent dimensional stability, and a method for manufacturing the film.
A cellulose ester film is obtained by melting and extruding a mixture comprising a cellulose ester and at least one kind of the additive. At least a part of the cellulose ester is brought into contact with a liquid, in which the additive is dissolved or finely dispersed, to obtain the mixture, which is then dried.
