The method for producing the cellulose ester film comprises casting a cellulose ester solution obtained by dissolving a cellulose ester in which 2.4-3 hydroxy groups of the cellulose ester is substituted by ester bonds and 0.01-5 mass% non-fluorine-based surfactant having a specific structure in an amount of 0.01-5 mass% based on solid content of the cellulose ester into a non-halogen-based organic solvent onto a support and then releasing a cellulose ester film formed on the support from the support.
