Abstract:

To provide a cellulose fatty acid-mixed ester ultrafine fiber precursor exhibiting excellent processability through higher-order steps, and having good mechanical characteristics.

The cellulose fatty acid-mixed ester ultrafine fiber precursor is a sea-island type conjugate fiber obtained by arranging a polylactic acid in the sea part, and arranging a cellulose fatty acid mixed ester in the island part, wherein the island component forms a continuous phase in the fiber axis direction. The strength of the fiber precursor is 0.7-2.0 cN/dtex and the elongation of the precursor is 15-40%. Preferably, the cellulose fatty acid mixed ester is a cellulose acetate propionate or a cellulose acetate butyrate.
