The outside part in a vehicle width direction of a center pillar 14 is constituted of a center pillar outer reinforcement 16. Both sides in the vehicle width direction of the center pillar outer reinforcement 16 are provided with a front side vertical wall part 16B and rear side vertical wall part 16C along the vehicle vertical direction. A plurality of openings 30 are formed in the lower parts of the front side vertical wall part 16B and rear side vertical wall part 16C. In the opening 30, the outside part in the vehicle width direction is a smoothly curved edge 30A and the inside portion in the vehicle width direction is a straight edge 30B. The center pillar outer reinforcement 16 is formed of a high tensile steel plate (hot press material, particularly).
